Joint Patrol to Protect Tapanuli Orangutan in Batangtoru Ecosystem (March 30, 2019)

The Wildlife Authority (BBKSDA) in North Sumatra and Scorpion Foundation carried out a joint patrol in Rimba Sihasur village inside Dolok Sipirok Natural Reserve in South Tapanuli on Saturday (2019-03-30). The patrol aimed at preventing orangutan capture in the village in its surrounding area.

Rimba Sihasur is a village inside Sipirok Natural Reserve as an enclave.





Joint patrol of Scorpion Foundation and the forestry policemen of Ministry of Environment and Forestry in Rimba Sihasur village, Dolok Sipirok Natural Reserve.



The patrol team also met with Village Head of Rimba Sihasur, Mrs. Rini Kusuma Dewi at her residence discussing on prevention of orangutan capture and illegal encroach of Tapanuli orangutan habitat.
